This multisensory tasting experience converges digital art and sound to amplify the unique tasting notes and essence of Motherlove Kombucha beverages to explore the intricate relationship between taste, sight, and sound.

This project started as an experiment to test the potential visual and audio differences that various alcoholic beverages, such as wine or hard kombucha, can produce by using the TouchMe Midi Sensor. Upon discovering that red wine produces different frequencies than white wine and that there are differences between varietals, I decided to expand and create textures that help depict the tasting notes and elements of the beverages. I then brought these textures into Touchdesigner to animate them using different inputs from the TouchMe Midi Sensor, which will animate differently for each person when they interact with the beverage, as they bring their unique frequency to the beverage.

This project intends to provide a more immersive experience with a visual and audio component, rather than just taste and smell, to create a whole sensory experience for the person interacting with the beverage. As I started to refine the project, my focus shifted to using Kombucha from Motherlove, a local Kombucha brewer who has supported my project. Their emphasis on vibrant flavours and natural ingredients provided invaluable inspiration for creating textured animations that would encapsulate the essence of their kombucha.
